Helen is a Person-Centred Counsellor who wholeheartedly believes that with the right space and support, you can navigate life’s challenges and grow as a person. Graduating from Worcester University, she brings a rich and varied background—from nursing to leadership roles—giving her a deep understanding of people from all walks of life.

With a special interest in how childhood experiences shape our relationships, as well as the unique challenges of adult neurodiversity diagnoses, Helen offers a compassionate, insightful, and welcoming space for online clients.

Feeling inspired and encouraged by the discussions and updates shared at the Armed Forces Covenant Review which was held at the fantastic @shellstoreheref this morning. The Q&A session held around employment and support barriers to spouses and female veterans was particularly thought provoking.

It was my first time attending this event as well as my first visit to Shell Store. Thank you for having me and making me feel so welcome at such an impressive premises.

It was a privilege to learn from a fantastic group of people and organisations supporting each other to support active personnel, veterans, families and spouses.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of presenting a wellbeing workshop to the incredible workforce at Safeguard Medical Hereford ⚕️. The session covered important topics like toxic positivity, mental health myths, and self-care – crucial conversations for fostering healthier workplaces 💡.

Stepping out of my comfort zone to deliver this workshop was a challenge, but one I fully embraced. I often remind my clients that through challenge and taking considered risks, we grow, learn, and develop in ways we never imagined 🌱. This experience was a beautiful reminder to lean into the unfamiliar and trust the process.

A huge thank you to @safeguardmedical_ Hereford for inviting me to speak 🙏 and for their inspiring dedication to promoting positive mental health in their workplace 🧠.

Going to the gym for physical fitness IS like going to therapy for mental wellness: both are proactive ways to strengthen and care for your well-being. At the gym, you work on your body by building endurance, strength, and flexibility. 💪🏻In therapy, you work on your mind by developing emotional resilience, self-awareness, and healthier coping strategies. 🧠

Just as physical fitness helps prevent illness and boosts energy, therapy can prevent emotional struggles from becoming overwhelming and improve your overall mental health. Both require effort, consistency, and patience—you don’t see immediate results, but over time, the benefits become clear. ⏳️🕊

At the gym, a trainer can guide you to reach your fitness goals. In therapy, a counsellor helps you explore your thoughts and feelings, guiding you toward clarity and healing. Both are investments in yourself that lead to a stronger, healthier future. 💚

When Theodore Roosevelt shared this wisdom in the early 20th Century, he was reflecting on the human tendency to diminish our own happiness by measuring it against others. Fast forward 100 years or so ⏩️ and it feels more relevant than ever. Especially with our daily use and exposure to social media AND with the increased pressures come with Christmas! 🎅😵‍💫

Two nights on from the final curtain, I continue to feel inspired and encouraged by the talent and courage demonstrated by the cast of The musical The Full Monty, performed by @hmtc_hereford at @courtyard_arts 🎭

Their performance portrayed a heartwarming and comedic exploration of resilience, camaraderie, and vulnerability. Set against the backdrop of an economic hardship, the story line follows a group of unemployed men who, despite their insecurities, form an unlikely bond as they prepare for a bold striptease to reclaim their confidence.

More than just a tale of laughter and entertainment, the story delves deeply into issues of men’s mental health, masculinity, and sexuality. It sheds light on the pressures men face, the stigma around vulnerability, and the importance of breaking these barriers. As the characters share their struggles and support one another, the narrative highlights the power of solidarity and coming together during tough times 🤝🏼
